Lord, on Mother's Day my heart turns with tenderness toward every woman who loves like a mother.
Thank You for the simple gestures that sustain life: the meal prepared, the word that calms, the silent vigil beside the one who suffers, the forgiveness offered more times than we care to count.
Bless each mother for the love that costs and the strength that does not give up. For those whose children are near, keep the joy of being together. For those who are far away, sustain the affection that crosses the distance. For those who wait, comfort them. For those who weep for a child, wipe away the tears and fill their hearts with hope.
Teach me to show gratitude not only today, but in every gesture of care and presence. May I honor the one who gave me life and the one who welcomed me as a mother, even when words fall short.
Lord, receive this tribute as a simple gift, made of memory and love. Amen.
