Prayer to Welcome the New Year

A prayer of gratitude and surrender to begin the new year with faith and trust.

Good Father, on this day when the calendar starts fresh, my heart wants to begin before the spreadsheets and the plans. I want to give thanks. Thank you for sustaining what I could not see: the narrow steps, the long nights, the moments when everything seemed still and yet something was moving beneath the surface.

Thank you for the people who stayed close and also for those who left, because every meeting and every absence taught me what matters.

At the start of this new year, I place before You what still has no shape: the projects that depend on me, the decisions that weigh, what I wish I could control but cannot. I do not ask for guarantees — I ask for Your presence. Teach me to walk with attention, to choose with calm, and to trust that fruit takes time to bloom.

When I rush ahead, hold my hand. When I grow discouraged, renew in me the courage to begin again. Guard my family, my health, my work, and everything that endures only because Your mercy is greater than my strength.

The new year is an invitation, not a formula. Make me someone who seeks You before chasing results, and who walks with joy even when the road is not yet clear.

Amen.
