Prayer Based on Psalm 46
An original prayer inspired by Psalm 46 to rest in the God who is refuge and strength in time of distress.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
When life shakes and the ground seems to tremble, when the waters rise and the heart feels unsteady, I cling to You, Lord, because there is no sinking place, nor a cry that escapes Your aid.
You speak and the chaos settles where fear was trying to take me. Your love overtakes me, and I can rest.
I do not ask that the storms never come, but I ask that Your presence make me cling to Your faithfulness. Teach me to trust You even when all things seem uncertain, and that Your presence be my surest certainty.
The nations rage, the kingdoms shake, but I dwell with the God who makes me secure. May I trust with simplicity, pray with honesty, and remain firm in Your compassion. Amen.
