Prayer Based on Psalm 40
A prayer for those who have waited long and find in God's faithfulness a renewed hope.
I waited for the Lord for a long time.
There were days when the silence felt too heavy, when the heart grew tired of waiting and the soul wondered whether an answer would ever come. But You did not abandon me in the waiting.
You heard my cry. From the bottom of the pit, from deep waters where I had almost no strength left, You lifted me up. You set my feet on solid ground and gave my steps direction again.
A new song was born in my chest — not because the path was easy, but because Your faithfulness carried me through it.
Now I know the wait was not empty. Every prayer that seemed unanswered was being held by You. Every slow step was being guided with care.
Teach me not to lose hope when the answer takes time. May Your hand stay with me, may Your voice guide me, and may I walk with the confidence of someone who has been rescued and will not be forgotten.
