Prayer for the Middle of the Night
A short prayer for night watch or insomnia, offering comfort for the sleepless hours.
Father, this middle of the night has found me awake without the strength to pretend everything is alright.
Thoughts arrive uninvited and my body can carry no more. I don't need explanations right now; I only need to know I'm not alone in the silence.
Calm my breathing and the noise I carry inside. Teach me to find rest even if sleep still eludes me, and to trust that this night can also be a place of care.
If this vigil lasts longer, let me not harden my heart against it. If my body asks for rest, let me seek help and treat myself gently. If peace returns, let me receive it as a gift.
Be with me in this night. Amen.
