A study of John’s Gospel: where to begin
An introductory path through John’s Gospel, observing its themes, symbols, and invitation to faith.
John’s Gospel presents Jesus through encounters, signs, and speeches that invite the reader to recognize who he is. The reading can be slow: one chapter a day is enough to notice a rich progression of images, questions, and decisions.
Four questions for each chapter
Ask what the text reveals about Jesus, how people respond to him, what human need appears, and what invitation is made to the reader. Pay attention to recurring words such as life, light, truth, witness, remain, and believe.
Read the entire chapter before searching for explanations of an isolated verse. End each meeting with a prayer that responds to what you read.
