Way of the Cross: Prayer for the Passion of Christ

An original prayer to meditate on the suffering and love of Jesus along the way of the cross.

Lord Jesus, on this path of the Way of the Cross, guide my heart to the foot of the Cross. I do not want to simply walk through the stations as a distant observer. I want to enter into your sorrow, recognize your love, and be transformed by your sacrifice.

In the first station, when you receive an unjust condemnation, teach me to accept judgment without resentment, trusting that only you see the depths of the heart. When you take up your cross, give me the courage to embrace my own crosses — the ones I choose in love and the ones that come without warning.

When you fall along the way, remind me that falling is not failure: it is an invitation to rise again, held up by your mercy. When your face is wiped by foreign hands, open my eyes to recognize who serves me through simple and silent gestures.

Upon the cross, when all seems silence and abandonment, sustain my faith. Teach me to remain with suffering without fleeing, to contemplate the mystery of your surrender without trying to explain it with easy words. Receive, Lord, all that is hardest for me to let go: my fear, my pride, and the times I do not know how to love you.

May each station of the Way of the Cross renew within me the desire to convert the heart. May your suffering be not merely a distant memory but a living presence that draws me closer to the Father and makes me more merciful to those who walk beside me. Amen.
