Prayer for patience to respond calmly
Ask God for the patience and maturity to answer calmly, even when the moment feels tense.
Lord, there are moments when someone's words reach me too quickly and the urge to answer sharply feels stronger than I am.
Give me the patience I cannot find on my own. Teach me to breathe before I speak, to listen before I judge, and to choose a response that does not make the conflict worse.
I am not asking You to silence me. I am asking You to make my voice steady without being hurtful. May my answer carry the calm of someone who trusts You, and the maturity of someone who knows that not every battle needs to be fought.
Watch over my words and my heart. Help me be an instrument of peace, especially when what I am being pushed to give is a hasty reaction.
