Prayer for Priests
Ask God to strengthen those who serve at the altar with faith, fidelity, and a heart given to priestly ministry.
Lord Jesus, high and eternal Priest,
You chose frail men to celebrate your mysteries and to lead your people to the Father. Look with mercy on the priests who carry this calling today.
Father, sustain those who give their lives to your service. When loneliness or weariness weighs on them, remind them that they do not walk alone. Give them a shepherd's heart, able to welcome without judging and to forgive as you forgive.
Strengthen their faith in the quiet hours, when no one sees the sacrifice. Keep their prayer pure and their devotion to the Eucharist steady, for it is the source and center of the ministry they have received.
Holy Spirit, guide their hands as they absolve, anoint, and break the bread. Free them from hurry, routine, and the search for applause. Make them servants of your Word and witnesses of your peace.
Lady, Mother of priests, cover them with your mantle. And to us, your faithful, grant respect and prayer for those who lead us in faith.
Through Christ our Lord, amen.
