Prayer for Refugees
A welcoming prayer of solidarity for refugees and their families.
Lord, You who sheltered Joseph and Mary when they needed a home in a foreign land, look with compassion on all who have been forced to leave their homes.
Bless the refugees who walk without knowing where tomorrow will find them. Guard their children, sustain their weary hearts, and give them daily bread, water that refreshes, and a roof that protects.
Touch the minds and hearts of those who receive them: may no glance push away, no hand close, no word humiliate. Teach us to see in them the image of Your creation, not the weight of a problem.
Give courage to those who care, patience to those who welcome, and wisdom to the leaders who shape the paths of nations. May solidarity be stronger than fear and hospitality quicker than indifference.
Amen.
