Prayer for Peace in the World

Lord of peace, who renews every path, look with compassion on the lands where the sound of violence rings louder than the cry for justice.
Today we remember the peoples whose borders have been torn open by conflicts they did not choose. We intercede for those forced to leave their homes, for those who wake to gunfire instead of birdsong, for those who count the hours not knowing whether a hug will come or another jolt.
You who know every tear and every weary step, sustain the hearts that no longer know where to trust. Give strength to those who care for the wounded, courage to those who share what they have, and calm to those who choose the simple act of breaking bread together.
We do not ask that conflicts end as a promise within our control, but that this earth keeps sowing small deeds that resist division: a cup of water offered, a hand extended instead of a gaze that pushes away, the silence that welcomes before it reproves.
May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts that grieve, fear, or wait today. And may each of us, wherever we are, be a livable sign of Your kindness to those who suffer without apparent reason.
