Prayer for Unity and Service in the Community
A welcoming prayer asking God for unity in the community and a heart ready to serve.
Loving God, we look at our community and see people who are different, each with their own story and path, and we know that You love them all the same. We ask for the grace to feel truly united, not because we are alike, but because Your love welcomes every one of us.
Lord, where there is distance, give us courage to take the first step. Where there is misunderstanding, give us humility to listen and patience to forgive. Make us a community that holds each other up in hard times and shares joy without envy.
Yet unity is not born merely from gathering together; it is born when we serve one another. Stir in each of us the desire to care for the person beside us, to mend what is broken, and to share what we have, whether it is much or little.
Help us to serve without seeking recognition and to welcome without expecting anything back. May our community be a place where no one feels alone, where the door stands open and the table is shared with all.
By the power of Your Spirit, make us a community whose love becomes service. Amen.
