Easter Prayer: Resurrection and Hope
An original prayer to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus at Easter, welcoming the joy, hope, and new beginning it brings.
Lord, today I draw near to Easter with a heart full of joy.
Christ is risen. The stone has been rolled away, the tomb is empty, and death does not have the final word. Before this mystery, I pause, I breathe, and I let hope return to the place where fear had settled.
Thank You, because the resurrection is not only a distant memory but Your promise that life begins again: on paths that seemed closed, in hearts that had grown weary, in stories I had given up telling.
Teach me to live as one who has risen. May I leave at the cross what needs to die — pride, resentment, despair — and open my hands to what Easter offers: peace, forgiveness, and the courage to begin again.
Make me a witness to this joy, not with empty words but with gestures of love that show Christ is alive. May Easter be more than a day on the calendar — the truth that sustains my steps each morning.
Amen.
