Psalm 121 Prayer for Travel
An original prayer inspired by Psalm 121 for those setting out on a journey and trusting in God's keeping along the way.
As the door opens and the road calls, I lift my eyes to where my help comes from:
the Lord who neither sleeps nor slumbers, who keeps my going out and my coming in.
You walk beside the one traveling with me, guide the one at the wheel, and stay alert over the one who watches.
May my feet not stumble from weariness, may weariness not dull my attention, and may fear not take hold of my heart.
Across shifting skies and stretching roads, You remain the same Lord walking with me.
Guard the start of the journey, guard every leg along the way, and guard the arriving home.
And when I return, may I carry the sure knowledge that I have never walked alone. Amen.
